Plans for the Ohio Wheelmen
Memorabilia Meet on March 24, 2012
The Ohio Wheelmen sponsors an annual Memorabilia Meet at the Bicycle Museum of America in quaint New Bremen, Ohio. The meet brings together people who collect memorabilia from the golden age of cycling around the turn of the century (1870-1918).
We expect a wide range of collections including cyclometers, lanterns, sheet music, badges, ribbons, tools, and more. We'll have two presentations that day in the Crown theatre. Lou Schultz will give a talk on Bicycle Steins and William Hentges will present LITTLE WHEELS - a Century of Cycling Toys.
Last year, we had indoor displays and trading as well as high wheel re-tiring being done outside. All-in-all, we had over 60 Wheelmen and friend participants in past years in addition to a dozen or so members of the public going through the museum. A review and photos from past meets are available for the 2010 meet and the 2011 meet.
Contact Jessica at the Bicycle Museum of America if you would like to rent a table for $10. This fee is split between the museum and the Ohio Wheelmen to support programs in both organizations.
Participants can also tour the museum. The museum has a vast collection of bikes, both new and old and everything in-between.
An interactive map is available to guide you there with driving directions if you wish.
